Bill Davis has been in the oil and gas industry for over forty years, and brings to the profession of joint venture auditing a combination of higher education, certifications, and experience unmatched by others offering these services.
Mr. Davis began his career in the industry in 1975, selling drilling equipment, from valves to multimillion dollar rig and subsea equipment packages - an invaluable experience for a future auditor of oil and gas operations. His hands-on training on the rigs and work with drilling engineers lasted for three years, while he pursued an accounting degree as a part-time graduate student. He was subsequently first employed in auditing by a major oil company and then by a large pipeline company, where he was promoted to Director of Auditing for the pipeline company's exploration and production subsidiary.
Mr. Davis resigned from the pipeline company in 1984 to establish a CPA practice specializing in auditing oil and gas joint ventures. The firm's assets and employees were acquired by Petroleum Comptroller Services, Inc. in 2001, where he was president until he retired from the position in 2012. He continues to serve as the firm's Chairman and advisor.
Mr. Davis has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and Louisiana, a Certified Internal Auditor and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston. He is experienced in auditing operations in all parts of the contiguous United States, Alaska, Canada, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. He has extensive experience auditing today’s shale operations.
Mr. Davis is a former Marine Corps captain and naval aviator. He is a combat decorated Life Member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association.
